RILEY COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) – One man was killed and a woman was seriously injured after their vehicle was rear-ended by a pickup truck south of Manhattan on Tuesday.
The crash happened just after 11 a.m. on K-177 near milepost 101, approximately 1.1 miles south of Deep Creek Road.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a 2005 Super Duty was traveling northbound in the right lane when it rear-ended a 2012 Hyundai Accent.
The truck came to rest on the west shoulder of the highway and the Hyundai came to rest in the east ditch.
The driver of the pickup, a 17-year-old Manhattan boy, was not injured in the crash, the crash log says.
