The City of New Haven is paving the way for more affordable housing through its zoning changes.
On Monday, the city’s Board of Alders approved zoning changes to the downtown as part of the Downtown For All plan.

Alder Eli Sabin, who spearheaded the changes, said it was a huge team effort that included Alder Angel Hubbard, Alder Kiana Flores, Alder Carmen Rodriguez and Alder Frank Douglass as well as support from the Board of Alders leadership team.
“Its about allowing a little bit more housing and more density in the downtown so we can bring in more families, more people from our community and bring more life to our downtown area,” Sabin said.
