NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Families of current and former NICU patients gathered Tuesday at Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital for a holiday “Photos with Santa” celebration that offered festive treats, gifts, and complimentary family portraits.
The event began with a quiet hour inside the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit, where Santa Earl visited to pose for photos with infants currently receiving care. Hospital leaders and associates joined families as Santa moved from crib to crib, offering what staff described as a welcome moment of cheer during a stressful season.
"Christmas is all about giving. It just warms my heart to be able to see them, present some gifts to them, and also be able to pray for them and pray for their health," Santa Earl said. "It's magic."
