GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - On Tuesday night, senior Gulfport runningback Cooper Crosby announced his commitment to Mississippi State via X.

Crosby’s announcement comes after he decommitted from the University of Louisiana in October. It also comes just 4 days before he and the Admirals travel to Starkville for the 7A State Championship against the Tupelo Golden Wave, led by 7A Mr. Football and fellow Mississippi State commit J.J. Hill.

Prior to Saturday’s contest, Crosby holds 1,631 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns on 243 carries, averaging 125.5 yards a game on the ground. He’s also served well in the passing game, snagging 45 passes for 609 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Crosby’s last game with the Admirals begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
