OXFORD, Miss. (WLBT) - Ole Miss’ former offensive coordinator Charlie Weis will be returning to coach the Rebels during the playoffs after joining Lane Kiffin at LSU.
In a statement, Weis said that he is “grateful” to LSU for allowing him to finish the season with Ole Miss.
“Coach Kiffin and the LSU Administration have been nothing but supportive,” Weis said. “I’m excited about the playoff run.”
Kiffin said that he hopes this decision will allow his former team to receive “the highest ranking possible because these great players are very deserving of that.”
Ole Miss has also released a poster on social media, which features a photo of Charlie Weis and other coaches with the caption “locked in for the @cfbplayoff.”
