Republican Matt Van Epps is the projected winner of the closely watched special election for Tennessee's U.S. House seat for the 7th congressional district, according to the Associated Press. With 86% of the vote counted shortly after 9:30 p.m., Van Epps was leading Democratic candidate Aftyn Behn, 52.4% to 46.5% in a district President Donald Trump won by 22 points in the 2024 election.
