WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) - Dave Boesen has defeated longtime incumbent Quentin Hart to be elected Waterloo’s new mayor in a runoff vote.

Boesen has served on Waterloo’s city council for six years, and before that he was a Waterloo firefighter for 29 years.

Hart served five terms as mayor and was the first Black mayor for the city of Waterloo. He spent eight years as a council member before that.
