INDIANAPOLIS —

Nearly a dozen Indiana lawmakers have reported bomb threats or swatting incidents in the wake of the state's redistricting battle.

Most, but not all, of the legislators have been opposed to redistricting. That includes Sen. Michael Bohacek.

He said he wouldn't support an effort in his state to redraw congressional district lines that favor Republicans after President Donald Trump used a slur for those with intellectual disabilities to describe Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Bohacek has a daughter with Down Syndrome.

"You can't validate slurs like that and rhetoric like that because how do you expect our children to not use terms like this, be respectful of each other, when the most powerful person in the world is using them," he said.
