HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Nearly 100 years after its opening, an iconic building soon will see new life.

The Prichard Building in downtown Huntington is making massive strides in its restoration efforts.

What was once a swanky hotel that closed more than 50 years ago is returning as an apartment complex geared toward seniors. The building will hold 108 apartments.

Nikki Thomas with Cornerstone Community Development said it’s exciting to bring a piece of the past to the present, while keeping the vintage charm that makes the Prichard Building so beloved.
