BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The city will revisit a 17-year-old plan to build dedicated bike lanes and/or off-road trails along main and arterial roads.
The 2008 ordinance describing the plan actually mandated bike lanes or trails along certain streets, but some were never built.
“Maybe we just have to rethink it,” Council President Robert Boldt said during a Sept. 22 City Council work session.
“The idea was, no matter where you live in Broadview Heights, (to have) the ability to get to the rec center.”
The Leo H. Bender Community Center shares a building with City Hall in the middle of town at Broadview and Oakes roads.
Boldt said the city administration and council will review the 2008 ordinance and perhaps add to the list of streets that should have bike lanes or trails.
