Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday approved a series of departmental proposals, including promotions in the Roads and Buildings Department and the establishment of an Animal Protection Board, officials said.

The meeting began at the Chief Minister’s residence in Jammu at 9 am and focused on administrative matters linked to governance, development and winter preparedness.

Senior officials said the Cabinet cleared proposals related to promotions and service issues of officer cadres in the R and B Department after a detailed review of seniority cases. Financial support was also approved to strengthen cooperative societies working with livestock and fisheries communities.
