Anthony Brereton scored two goals in the third period to help Christian Brothers come from behind and take down St. John Vianney, 4-2, in its season opener at the Jersey Shore Arena in Wall.
St. John Vianney (0-1) took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission after Nicholas Babaoglu scored a goal off a pass from Leo Ferone and Vincent Baldari.
Matthew Flynn tied the game in the second period for Christian Brothers (1-0) with a power play goal from Quinn Heanue. Baldari later put St. John Vianney back in front with a goal from Ferone and Daniel Fernandez.
Down 2-1, Christian Brothers tallied three unanswered goals in the third period to take the lead and win.
