Scotland and Ireland will clash in the group stage of the 2027 Rugby World Cup .

The two nations were both named in Pool D for the expanded tournament in Australia, which for the first time will feature 24 teams.

Gregor Townsend's side will once again do battle with the Irish in a pool stage having previously met their Six Nations rivals in the groups in 2019 and 2023.

They will be joined by Uruguay and Portugal, while England and Wales will clash in Pool F and also face Tonga and Zimbabwe.

Hosts Australia missed out on being among the top six teams in pot one and paid the price when they were paired with rivals New Zealand in Pool A.
