No court action will be taken after the deaths of two men in a scaffolding accident in Peterhead four years ago.

George Forbes and Alistair Buchan died after an incident on Merchant Street on August 18, 2021.

The pair, both 77, were fatally injured while working near St Peter's Church , with Mr Forbes pronounced dead at the scene and Mr Buchan passing away at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) has said it had now been decided there will be no proceedings in the case.

Following the accident, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) reported the incident to the procurator fiscal following their investigation.
