KNOX CO., Ind. (WFIE) - In Knox County, Indiana State Police troopers say a Gibson County father is in jail on drunk driving charges.
Troopers say they pulled over 27-year-old Jaret VanPatten Tuesday evening for speeding and nearly hitting two other cars.
While talking to VanPatten, authorities say they could smell alcohol coming from inside the vehicle and he appeared to be impaired.
Officials say VanPatten’s two young children were also in the vehicle.
VanPatten is now being held in the Knox County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
Authorities say the children were released to a relative.
He faces the following charges:
Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated with Passengers less than 18 years of age, Level 6 Felony
Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated, Class A Misdemeanor
Neglect of a Depe
