“This Week” in 1975, 50 years ago : Hospital rates at Douglas County Hospital will increase 8.5 percent as of January 1, with another 1.2 percent increase tentatively set for July 1. The increase effective January 1 includes a $5 a day increase for rooms in the new building and $6 a day for rooms in the old building. Budgeted expenses for 1976 total an estimated $3.3 million or an 8.4 percent increase over 1975 expenses estimated at $3 million. In addition to expenses, revenue will be used to pay building debts (including principal and interest) totaling $337,000 in 1976.
