An Open Letter to the Douglas County Board of Commissioners (Nov. 21, 2025):

Today, I am losing a major asset to my office. Joel Paschka, a veteran prosecutor is leaving Douglas County to work as an Assistant County Attorney in what is generally considered to be one of the poorest counties in Minnesota because he will be compensated better by that county.

Joel lives here and he has devoted his career to helping Douglas County citizens who have been victims of serious crimes. He also represented our county in tax appeals, civil lawsuits, and child protection cases. He is one of the most genuine, sincere lawyers that I have ever had the fortune to meet.
