KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A 70-year-old woman has been charged by the Knoxville Police Department after police say she crashed into nine cars at an apartment complex after drinking Tuesday night.

It happened around 7:15 p.m., according to KPD’s Scott Erland. Erland said officers responded to Sapling Grove Way, the parking lot of Moss Grove Apartments, where the woman had hit the cars.

The driver, 70-year-old Cynthia Ensor, lives at the complex, Erland said and showed signs of being under the influence. Police said she told officers she had come from the nearby Chop House, where she had been drinking.

Beyond that, Erland said officers found “evidence of alcohol consumption” in Ensor’s car.

The woman was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for minor injuries, Erland said.
