A man has been arrested after swallowing a precious Fabergé egg locket he allegedly stole from a jewellery store.

Police in New Zealand are now waiting for nature to take its course after the man was accused of smuggling a NZ$33,000 (£14,000) pendant out of a jewellery store by ingesting it. The 32-year-old man, who has not been publicly named, is accused of eating the delicate pendant - inspired by 1983 James Bond classic Octopussy - at Partridge Jewellers in Auckland on November 28.
