Carefor Health & Community Services is giving its year-end “Care for Seniors with Melanie” campaign an extra push with a two-week donation match aimed at helping one dedicated resident meet and hopefully surpass her fundraising goal.

From Dec. 1 to 14, all contributions to the campaign will be doubled, thanks to several donors who have stepped forward with a combined pledge of up to $4,500.

The campaign is being championed by Carefor Civic Complex resident Melanie Freeman, whose determination and affection for her fellow seniors have made her the face of the effort. Already past the midway point of her personal goal, Freeman has been walking daily to raise funds that directly support programs and activities for seniors living in Carefor retirement homes.
