After nearly two weeks of extensive repair work, the City of Pembroke says full water service across Pembroke and Laurentian Valley is on track to be restored by Saturday evening.
Crews tackling the large watermain break from late November encountered more work than initially expected. Once the damaged section of pipe was exposed, an inspection revealed deteriorated conditions around the break, requiring additional repairs and pushing the project timeline back by several days.

City officials say the repair site is expected to be filled in today, after which the water line will be charged. Water samples will then be taken to meet Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks requirements, with test results anticipated Friday.
