Bosses at a Northumberland care home are "extremely disappointed" after a Care Quality Commission inspection found not enough was done to minimise the risk of people living there coming to harm. Inspectors visited following an incident of "serious injury" they said was under criminal investigation.

This comes as an inspection report published last week also featured "mixed" feedback from residents at the Old Vicarage in Wooler and their families - with, according to inspectors, some "concerned about falls at the service and whether there were enough staff at busy times of the day".

The home, operated by family firm People First Care , has made improvements since the inspection took place, bosses said, and they said they felt confidence
