Cannabis farms found in Hendon (Image: Northumbria Police)
Three cannabis farms have been uncovered in 48 hours in Sunderland, thought to have a street value of £97,000. Officers from Northumbria Police's neighbourhood policing team acted on a tip off from the public and found the first on Hastings Street in Hendon on November 20, with around 410 plants inside.
The following day, a second cannabis farm was uncovered in the eaves of a property on Tower Street West. A third farm was revealed in an adjoining property, with around 600 plants seized in total.
Enquiries are ongoing to track down those connected with the farms.
