Police are continuing their search for a brazen suspect who broke into the Apex Technical School in Long Island City two times, on October 14 and November 7, where he made off with a total of nearly $90,000 in copper pipes and fittings, the NYPD said.
Cops said the burglar struck first at the state-of-the-art school building at 11-05 44th Drive in Long Island City just after 9:30 p.m. on October 14, where he pried open the front door using burglary tools that he also used to remove copper pipes and fittings valued at approximately $45,000. The suspect fled in an unknown direction with the stolen goods, police said. He returned on the night of November 7, when he used the same method to swipe more copper pipes and fittings also valued at approximately $45,000, police said.
