MADISON (WKOW) — Madison police are seeking the public's help in reuniting a lost dog with its owner.
The dog was found alone in the lobby of the West District Police Station on Monday. A sergeant heard strange barking during the night shift and discovered the dog.
Officers reviewed video footage and saw two people drop the dog off around 7:55 p.m. It is unclear whether they were the owners or concerned citizens.
The dog lacks a microchip or tag, making it difficult to identify its owner. An officer is currently caring for the dog at home.
The dog has been reported to Public Health Madison & Dane County Animal Services and Dane County Humane Society. Anyone wishing to claim the dog should contact the Madison Police Department with proof of ownership.
