COVINGTON, Ga. — Residences alerted law enforcement that a man matching the description of the escaped Rockdale County inmate was seen walking in their Newton County neighborhood before his capture.
Convington Police said officers were called to reports of a suspicious person on Pennington Street. The homeowner, police said, reported that a male matching the description of the Rockdale County inmate who escaped from Grady was walking in the area wearing a gray hoodie.
At around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Covington Police said a second homeowner on Green Acres Court reported that the escaped inmate had been banging on their door early that morning.
