ATLANTA — Officials say landlords in Georgia's Section 8 housing program will receive their delayed November payments this week, easing concerns after weeks of uncertainty tied to the federal government shutdown.
The Georgia Department of Community Affairs previously sent only partial November Housing Assistance Payments to landlords within its program, telling 11Alive federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development were temporarily withheld during the shutdown.
State housing officials now say HUD has released the remaining funds and that landlords should see the remainder of their November payments deposited by Friday.
