Ontario Provincial Police say they are investigating after a tow truck operator was struck and killed while helping a stranded motorist on Highway 401 east of London on Wednesday morning.
The vehicle that struck the person didn’t stay at the scene, police said.

In a video post to the OPP’s X page at 9:40 a.m., Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said police had closed Highway 401’s westbound lanes between Cedar Creek Road and Oxford Road 29 in Blandford-Blenheim Township, a municipality in Oxford County. Sanchuk said a fatal collision occurred shortly after 7 a.m.
