A Calgary high school student has been charged after he allegedly used artificial intelligence to create child sexual abuse and exploitation material.

ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) said, in a statement, that it is alleged the teen used artificial intelligence to sexualize photos of teen girls that attended various high schools in the Calgary area. The investigation began in October when ICE received a tip concerning child sexual abuse materials being uploaded to a social media platform.

ALERT, with assistance from the Calgary Police Service, executed a search warrant at a Calgary home on Nov. 13 where officers seized two cell phones, a tablet and a laptop.
