A popular cafe-style restaurant chain is closing all of its locations after nearly 90 years in operation.
Axios Raleigh — which specifically calls the company “a North Carolina icon” — reports that Winston-Salem-founded K&W Cafeterias announced these closures on Monday. The family-dining chain has been around since 1937.
“We are sorry to announce that after proudly serving this and many other communities for years, K&W Holdings Group LLC will be closed permanently,” reads a message posted to the company’s website . “All existing locations [will be closed] effective [Dec. 1].”
“We thank you for your support throughout our years in the business.”
