The measures seek to help parents access baby formula 'at more affordable prices' (Image: PA)
The Welsh and UK Governments say baby formula will be made more affordable and parents will be able to use coupons and gift cards to pay for it in future. Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced plans in the weekly Prime Minister's Questions session which he said could save families up to £500 before a child’s first birthday.
The UK Government said the changes would help those who cannot - or choose not - to breastfeed their babies to provide them with the best possible start in life, alleviate child poverty, and save money.
While health matters announced by the UK Government don't automatically cover Wales, this move has been agreed between the nations.
