Christmas is often seen as a time for tradition and from putting up a tree to sitting down with a roast, there are a few things that many of us do year in, year out.

But that's not to say you can't switch it up from time to time. If you're not craving a turkey this year most supermarkets have many alternative mains from Aldi's Specially Selected The Ultimate Slow Cooked Wagyu Shin to Waitrose's Mushroom, Malbec & Port Vegan Wellington, and your dessert doesn't need to fit the rule book either.

Sainsbury's is selling a range of less conventional desserts that might just sway you from your usual Christmas pudding or yule log.
