ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — Orangeburg County deputies say a noise complaint led investigators to charge two men and recover drugs and firearms on Monday night.
Tyshon Jefferson, 24; and Tamir Shivers, 25, were both charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute near a school, sheriff’s spokesman Richard Walker said. Jefferson also faced three counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, he said.
“We didn’t go out there with illegal narcotics in mind,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenel said.
Just before 7 p.m. on Monday, deputies responded to the complaint about noise on Baugh Street. Walker said deputies spotted what appeared to be marijuana and several weapons in a vehicle at the location.
