KESHENA, Wis. (WBAY) - A Keshena man has been sentenced to more than three years behind bars for a violent crime on the Menominee Indian Reservation.
53-year-old Darryl Smith was sentenced earlier this week after pleading guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
According to court documents, Smith punched his ex-girlfriend in the nose during an argument at a shelter, causing fractures and significant pain.
The victim required medical treatment for her injuries.
The judge noted Smith’s extensive criminal history during sentencing.
Following his prison term, Smith will serve an additional 36 months of supervised release.
