GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Today is National Package Protection Day, which falls every year on the Wednesday after Thanksgiving, serving as reminder to safeguard your online orders. Porch pirates increase around the holidays, with brown county reporting seven stolen packages since November.

The holidays are undoubtedly filled with gift shopping. Many of us skip the lines at the store and buy things online; don’t let a grinch steal your goodies this year. Know how to combat the porch pirate before they attack.

“This is the time of year when we’re clicking the buy now button and getting all those packages delivered. A couple of safe tips to make sure those arrive at your doorstep and don’t get taken,” said Officer Daniel Wiechman, Community Liaison Officer for Fox Crossing Police Department.
