WASHINGTON —
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is facing mounting pressure over his handling of certain military operations.
New findings from the Pentagon’s inspector general, according to the Associated Press, concluded Hegseth put U.S. personnel and their mission at risk by using the encrypted Signal messaging app to convey sensitive information about an airstrike against Yemen’s Houthi militants.
Earlier this year, Hegseth sent out specific timing details about planned aircraft launches and weapons releases. He also inadvertently included a journalist in the chat.
The AP said it obtained details of the inspector general’s findings from two people familiar with the report, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the report has not yet been publicly released. It is expected to
