A young eastern screech owl found injured in Westport Monday is on its way to a Cape Cod rehabilitation center.
Animal control officer Nick Vidmar responded to Main Road, near Cornell Road, after a caller phoned the Westport Police Department about the injured bird. He found the owl with undisclosed injuries, gently picked it up in a towel, and brought it to the Dartmouth Humane Society. From there, the young bird will be transferred to the Cape Wildlife Center for care.
“Hoping this little owl is on its way to a full recovery,” Vidmar reported.
