LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Baxter County Sheriff's Office announced on Wednesday a new automated telephone wellness check system for seniors and disabled persons who live alone.
The sheriff's office calls the system "CONFIRM OK," and it was funded by the Baxter County Sheriff's Foundation's Board of Directors.
The Directors provided funding after hearing a presentation on the system from Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Brian Davis. Lieutenant Davis will be serving as the manager and coordinator of this program.
Sheriff's office officials stated that the system works by placing automated telephone calls to the participant at the phone number on file one or more times per day.
If the participant can answer, he or she will hear a recorded message from the Sheriff's Office through the CONFIRM OK
