GREENSBORO, N.C. — With winter weather expected to arrive Friday, residents across the Triad spent Thursday preparing for potentially hazardous road conditions and the possibility of power outages.
At an Ace Hardware store in Greensboro, staff say customers showed a wide range of emotions—some excited for the snow, others dreading the chore of clearing driveways.
Assistant Manager Newton said the rush for winter essentials has been steady throughout the day, with shovels, sleds, gloves, and ice melt in especially high demand. Even with uncertainty surrounding how much winter weather the area will get, he encourages residents to prepare early. "You would always rather have and not need than need and not have," said Newton.
