Prairie Farms is recalling gallon jugs of fat-free milk sold in Illinois and Wisconsin after discovering possible contamination with food-grade cleaning agents that could make consumers sick, PEOPLE reports.
The Illinois-based dairy company announced the voluntary recall on Nov. 25 through the Food and Drug Administration . The affected milk was produced at the company’s Dubuque, Iowa, facility and distributed exclusively to Woodman’s stores in both states.
Consumers are urged to check their milk for a “DEC08” code date and the “PLT19-145” plant code. Only gallons produced between 5:51 p.m. and 9:23 p.m. during that specific production run are covered by the recall.
