Venmo has come back online after the payment app suffered what appeared to be a major outage Wednesday evening.

Venmo said late Wednesday it was working to fix the issue after thousands of users reported encountering problems.

"We're aware that some users are experiencing issues with Venmo right now," Venmo said in a post to X. "Our team is working on a fix, and we'll update you as soon as it's resolved. Thanks for your patience."

Reports spiked Wednesday evening on DownDetector , a website that tracks outages by user reports. Some reported issues logging in, transferring funds or using the Venmo debit card linked to their accounts.
