PHOENIX (KVOA) - The Arizona Corporation Commission has approved an Energy Supply Agreement (ESA) between Tucson Electric Power Company (TEP) and Humphrey’s Peak Power LLC for a new data center campus in Pima County. The vote was 4-1.
The ESA is a contract detailing terms for energy delivery and payment between an energy producer and a customer. The Commission said in a statement, "The Commission’s role is to review the ESA to ensure it meets regulatory requirements and provides protections for all TEP customers."
This decision revolves around Project Blue, a nearly $4 billion data center proposed for the southeast side of Pima County.
The data center, which is planned near the Pima County Fairgrounds at Houghton and Brekke Road, is less than a month away from a Dec. 25 deadline finaliz
