CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Protesters urged Governor Kathy Hochul to veto the controversial bill that would allow terminally ill adults to request life-ending medication.
Dozens of people braved the cold Wednesday night for a candlelight vigil outside First Trinity Lutheran Church on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Tonawanda, urging Governor Kathy Hochul to veto New York's Medical Aid in Dying Act.
The controversial bill passed in both the state Assembly and Senate and now awaits the governor's signature. This vigil was one of several planned across the state this week opposing the legislation.
