ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Dozens of people lined up outside a St. Charles tattoo shop early Wednesday morning, ahead of an annual tradition benefiting local children.
Permanent Vacation Tattoo hosts an annual toy drive for non-profit F.A.S.T., otherwise known as Foster Adoption Support Team, which helps improve the lives of local foster children.
“I can’t feel my toes,” said one man, who had been in line since 7:30 a.m.
A toy with a value of at least $50, along with a receipt, allows participants to choose one of dozens of tattoos, free of charge.
“It’s cold, I’ve been out here with my daughter, we do this every year...since 5:30 this morning,” said Darla Cheever. “When my kids were young, I ended up needing programs like this, so for me, it’s way for me to give back.“
