The college football early signing period got underway Wednesday, Dec. 3, with several of the area’s top prospects making their plans for the next level official.
Crest was most active, with five players signing with the school of their choosing.
Shrine Bowl safeties D’Various Surratt and Lyrik Pettis signed with NC State and Duke, respectively, while quarterback Ely Hamrick made his plan to attend the University of Virginia official.
“It’s a great feeling, a dream come true,” said Hamrick. “It’s something I’ve been looking forward to since I committed a year and a half, two years ago.”
Nearby Gardner-Webb also scored a pair from the school, defensiv back Donovan Walton and offensive lineman Nari Hickman signing with the Runnin’ Bulldogs.
