CHAPEL HILL — Bill Belichick and UNC football are onto 2026, starting with the early signing period for high school recruits in December.
Following a 4-8 season in Belichick ’s debut year with the Tar Heels , the 73-year-old coach and general manager Michael Lombardi will turn their attention to building a roster for next season.
After welcoming 70 newcomers to his debut roster, which included a mix of returners, freshmen and additions via the transfer portal, Belichick figures to have another revamped group of new faces to join a full 2026 recruiting class.
Belichick and Lombardi will speak with media members at 5 p.m. on Dec. 3 inside the Kenan Football Center, addressing questions about the newest players set to join the Tar Heels .
