Brain cancer, especially glioblastoma, is characterized by its aggressive nature, with very poor survival rates. Conventional treatments hardly succeed because of the brain's protective barriers, which easily block the path of drug delivery. However, a breakthrough approach using nasal drops brings about new hope. Nasal drops have been developed by scientists at Washington University School of Medicine and Northwestern University to directly deliver the immune-activating nanomedicine to brain tumors. This noninvasive technique has been remarkably successful in laboratory mice and may become the future for treating brain cancer.
