NEW DELHI: The MCD bypoll results on Wednesday were a mixed bag for two major parties in the city, with BJP and AAP losing key strongholds and several contests being decided by razor-thin margins, some by as little as 148 votes. The bypoll to the 12 wards of Municipal Corporation of Delhi was the first major political test for BJP since it has formed govt in Delhi 10 months ago. Chief minister Rekha Gupta had campaigned aggressively across wards with her cabinet colleagues. The party previously held nine of these wards, but managed to retain seven.
