Russian President Vladimir Putin will arrive in New Delhi today for a two-day visit. This is his first visit to India since the Ukraine war began in 2022.

Putin will participate in the 23rd India-Russia Summit, part of the annual meeting between India and Russia. Each year, the two countries alternate hosting this meeting, but this time it's India's turn.

During the summit, Putin will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two leaders are expected to discuss the crude oil deal, the purchase of the S-400 missile system, and a free trade agreement (FTA). President Draupadi Murmu will host a state dinner in Putin's honour.
