Swaraj Kaushal, husband of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and father of BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, passed away on Thursday.

Delhi BJP announced his demise in a post on X, stating that he died on December 4 at the age of 73. His last rites will be held today at the Lodhi Road crematorium.

Kaushal holds the distinction of being the youngest governor in India’s history. He was appointed Governor of Mizoram in 1990 at just 37 years of age.

He also served as a Rajya Sabha MP from Haryana between 1998 and 2004 and was a Senior Advocate in the Supreme Court, where he handled several prominent and high-profile cases throughout his legal career.
